St Vincent of Lerins, also known as Vincentius, He was born in Toulouse, France in the 4th century AD and hailed from a noble family of Gaul (in modern-day France).

He became a soldier but later left the profession to become a monk on the island of Lerins off the southern French coast near Cannes in France.

He wrote the Commonitory under the pseudonym Peregrinus, a piece of work that was a great defense of the faith. He died in 445 AD in Lerins, France.

We celebrate his feast day on May 24 every year in the Catholic Church.
