Biography

St Vitalis of Rome was married to Saint Valeria of Milan. He was the father of Saint Gervase and Saint Protase. He became a soldier but later converted. When Saint Ursicinus of Ravenna wavered in his faith on his way to martyrdom, Vitalis encouraged him to stand firm. This exposed his faith and led to immediate arrest, torture, and martyrdom.
