St Barbara Kim, also known as Bareubara Gim, was born in 1805 in Si-heung, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, and died as a martyr on May 27 1839 in prison in Seoul, South Korea of plague. She is one of the Martyrs of Korea. We celebrate her feast day on May 27 every year in the Catholic Church.
