Saint Andrew of Troas

Saint Andrew of Troas was a Christian who was imprisoned for refusing to sacrifice to pagan idols during the persecutions of Decius.

A mob stirred up by the priests of Diana demanded that he and Saint Paul be turned over to them, after a night in prison.

They both were scourged, dragged out of town, and murdered as martyrs after being stoned to death in Alexandria Troas (in modern Turkey), in the year 250 AD.

Saint Rupert of Bingen

Saint Rupert of Bingen was born near Mainz, Rhineland Palatinate (in modern Germany) and was the son of Saint Bertha of Bingen.

He lived as a hillside hermit near Bingen, Germany in the Ninth-century. He passed away while returning from a pilgrimage to Rome, Italy and since then, his hill has since been name Rupertsberg in his honour.

Saint Alvardo

Saint Alvardo was born Norwegian and was a wealthy merchant and a cousin to King Olaf of Norway. He was killed as a martyr after he defended a woman who was falsely accused of theft on the 15th of May, 1043 AD.

His remains are interred in the cathedral of Oslo, Norway

Saint Colman Mc O’Laoighse

Saint Colman Mc O’Laoighse, also known as Columbanus Mc O’Laoighse lived as a spiritual student of Saint Columba and Saint Fintan of Clonenagh and brought about by the founding of a monastery in Oughaval, Ireland, and served as its first abbot in the 6th century. A church at Stradbally, Ireland was set up in his honor.

Blessed Clemente of Bressanone

Blessed Clemente of Bressanone was born in Bressanone, Italy and was a Franciscan friar minor. She was sent to the Pinerolo region to evangelize against Waldensianism and it resulted to bringing back many to the faith.

He was murdered on 15 May 1655 near San Secondo di Pinerolo, Italy.

Saint Rheticus of Autun

Saint Rheticus of Autun, also known as Rheticius, Reticius or Rhétice was born in Gallo-Roman and lived as a Bishop of Autun, France in the year 310 AD.

Writings of him by both renowned saints, Saint Augustine of Hippo and Saint Jerome exist about his knowledge of Scripture.

He passed away in 334 AD due to natural causes.

Blessed Diego of Valdieri

Blessed Diego of Valdieri was born in Valdieri, Italy lived as a Franciscan friar minor. She was sent to the Pinerolo region to evangelize against Waldensianism and as a result brought many back to the faith.

He was murdered on 15 May 1655 near San Secondo di Pinerolo, Italy.

Saint Bercthun of Beverley

Saint Bercthun of Beverley, also known as Bertin, Britwin, Brithwin or Brithun, lived as a Benedictine monk and a spiritual apprentice of Saint John of Beverley. He became the first abbot of Beverley in England. He died in the year 733 AD.

Saint Nicholas the Mystic was said to have been the Patriarch of Constantinople. He was deposed and exiled by Emperor Leo VI when he opposed the emperor’s fourth marriage which was at the time prohibited by the laws of the Eastern Church.

Saint Hesychius of Gibraltar was said to have been a spiritual apprentice of the Apostles during the 1st century. He belonged to the first group of missionaries to Spain and was believed to have died as a Martyr.

Saint Victorinus of Clermont

Saint Victorinus of Clermont was believed to have been converted to the faith and then murdered as a martyr by Teutonic barbarians led by Chrocas in the year 264 AD in Clermont, France.

Saint Caecilius of Granada

Saint Caecilius of Granada was believed to have been a spiritual student of the first Apostles during the 1st century and was said to have belonged to the 1st group of missionaries to Spain.

Saint Cassius of Clermont

Saint Cassius of Clermont lived as a priest and was believed to have been murdered as a martyr by Teutonic barbarians led by Chrocas in the year 264 AD in Clermont, France.

Saint Ctesiphon of Verga

Bohtiso, Isaac and Simeon are the names of those commonly referred to as the Martyrs of Persia, who were a group of Christians who were tortured, mutilated, imprisoned, starved and finally executed by either being beheaded or burnt together at the stake, as records of the ordeal vary, for refusing to worship the sun and fire during the persecutions of Shapur II in the late 3rd century somewhere in Persia.
