Blessed Octavian of Savona
Blessed Octavian of Savona was born in 1060 AD at Quingey, Diocese of Besancon, France and was the brother of Pope Saint Callistus II.
He was educated by Benedictines and became a Benedictine monk at Saint Peter’s Abbey in Pavia, Italy. He, later on, became the Bishop of Savona, Italy in 1129 AD.
He died of natural causes in 1132 AD and was beatified through a cultus confirmation by Pope Pius VI in 1793 AD
Martyrs of Cardeña
The Martyrs of Cardeña are the two hundred Benedictine monks at the Saint Peter of Cardegna monastery, Burgos, Spain. They were martyred by invading Saracens in the 8th century.
After they met their death they were buried in a nearby churchyard in Burgos, Spain by local Christians.
They were beatified through a cultus confirmation by Pope Clement VIII in 1603 AD.
Blessed Goderanno
Blessed Goderanno was a Benedictine monk at the Abbey of Cluny. He became the Abbot of Maillezais Abbey and later on the Bishop of Saintes, France.
He died of natural causes on August 6 1074.
Saint Stephen of Cardeña
Saint Stephen of Cardeña was a monk and Abbot of the Castilian monastery of Cardeña in the Archdiocese of Burgos, Spain. He led over 200 brother monks and were martyred by invading Saracens in 872 AD.
