Biography
Angelo was born to a noble family and became a knight. In 1223, he went to service with Cardinal Leone Brancaleone in Rome where he met Saint Francis of Assisi. He gave up on his military career and became the first student of St. Francis and one of the first Franciscan friars been the first knight to join the order.
He became one of the famous legends of the three Companions about Francis. Angelo also nursed Francis during his final days of illness.
