Biography
Bl. Ciriaco María Sancha Hervás was ordained a priest on 27th June 1858 and later became an auxiliary Bishop in Toledo, Spain and Titular Bishop of Aeropolis on 28 January 1876. On 27 March 1882, he became the Bishop of Avila, Spain and later transferred to Madrid on 10 April 1886.
Ciriaco was made the archbishop of Valencia in Spain on 6th October 1892 and later elevated to Cardinal-priest of San Pietro in Montorio on 18 May 1894 by Pope Leo XIII. He initiated the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of Cardinal Sancha. He served as the archbishop of Toledo in Spain and a patriarch of the West Indies on 24 March 1898.
