Blessed’s Biography

Blessed Ejëll Deda was born on February 22, 1917, in Shkodrë in Albania. He studied his elementary school in Ballabane neighborhood of Shkodra.

Then he continued into the friars, and then to the Albanian Pontifical Seminary in Shkodra and, finally, to Propaganda Fide in Rome. Ejëll was ordained a priest in Shkodra on February 24, 1943, in the Archdiocese of Shkodrë Pult in Albania.

Ejëll was arrested in Rranxa of Bushat on November 12, 1947, and was imprisoned in Shkodra. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison during the anti-Christian persecution by the Communist government. He died on May 12, 1948, in prison in Shkodrë, Albania.
