Blessed’s Biography
Blessed Gerard of Villamagna was born in 1174 at Tuscany in Italy. He was raised by a family of Knights Hospitaller and selected as Knights to travel to the Holy Land.
Gerard was taken as a prisoner, but later released and then returned to Italy. Later he became acquainted with Saint Francis of Assisi, became a member of the Third Franciscan Order and lived the rest of his life as a hermit. He died in 1242 of natural causes.
