Bl. John Beche Biography
Bl. John Beche was a Benedictine monk and a Doctor of Divinity from Oxford in 1515 AD. He was an abbot of Saint Werburgh abbey in England. later became abbot of Saint John More and initially opposed King Henry VIII’s presumption of supremacy in spiritual matters.
His abbey was dissolved in November 1538, he stood by the Church and was for the church to manage its own affairs. This made him be martyred on December 1, 1539.
