Blessed Jordan of Saxony Biography

Bl. Jordan of Saxony was born a noble Saxon family where he received a religious and was recognized for his charity to the poor and the aged. He attended school in Germany and attained a masters degree in theology at the University of Paris. He served under St. Dominic in the order of preachers in 1220 AD. Later, he succeeded Saint Dominic as a master general of the order of Lombardy, Italy in 1222 AD.
As a recognized preacher, one of his sermons brought Saint Albert the Great into the order. He also wrote the Biography of Saint Dominic. Jordan was the spiritual director of Blessed Dianna d’Andalo and helped her found the monastery of Saint Agnes.
