Bl. Josephina Gabriella Bonino Biography

Bl. Josephina Gabriella Bonino was raised in a religious family. She was a deeply religious child who moved to Turin, Italy at age 12. she made a vow on chastity when she was still 18.

When she was age 26, she started to Savigliano, Italy to care for her ailing father. She underwent successful back surgery in 1887 and gave thanks for the health restored by building a pilgrimage to Lourdes, France.

April 1881, She helped found the sisters of the Holy Family to care for orphans, the poor and the sickly. She served as the elder for the rest of her life.
