Blessed Juan de Huete was a Mercedarian friar sent by Blessed Antonio Morell to Muslim-occupied Granada, Spain to ransom Christians enslaved by the Moors. In 1482 while working there he was imprisoned, tortured, put on public display for abuse, and then murdered in revenge for Catholic military victories in Alhama, Spain. Stoned to death by Moors in 1482 in Granada, Spain.
