Saint’s Biography
Saint Bertha of Kent was born a princess, the daughter of Charibert and Ingoberga. She was married to the pagan King Ethelbert of Kent, thus becoming the first Christian queen of England. St. Bertha brought Ethelbert to the faith, and they welcomed Saint Augustine of Canterbury to England in 596 and supported his work. St. Bertha died in 612 of natural causes.
