Blessed’s Biography
Bl Juan de Segalars joined the Mercedarians in Barcelona in Spain. In 1439, he was general Procurator of the Mercedarians. He visited the Council of Basel in the years 1439-1440.
Juan visited the Vatican several times to consult with the Pope and traveled to Tunis in North Africa in 1447 to release Christians enslaved by Muslims. Juan survived, but the treasure he carried lost, and he could not free the slave.
