Bl. Peter Igneus Biography
Blessed Peter Igneus was born in Italy. He later became a Benedictine monk and was accused of simony. He underwent a trial by fire he had to walk through fire to prove his innocence. God was to save him if he was innocent.
Peter became an abbot and spiritual teacher of Saint John Gualbert. He survived and was known thereafter as Peter Igneus. He transferred as an abbot of San Salvatore Abbey in Fucecchio, Italy. Became a cardinal-bishop of Albano.
