Biography
Blessed Pope Benedict XI, Joined the Dominicans when a young fellow. Ninth Master-General of his Order in 1296. Organized a truce between Philip IV of France and Edward I of England. Made Cardinal–Bishop of Ostia, Italy by Pope Boniface VIII. Safeguarded Pope Boniface VIII against William of Nogaret and his partners.
Consistently picked 194th pope in 1303. Expelled papal rebuke from Philip and France, and exonerated the cardinals favoring Colonna political group. Achieved various changes in religious and administrative life. Accepted to have been harmed by the specialists of William of Nogaret. Known for his deep rooted commitment to Dominican profound practices. Writer of a volume of lessons and analyses on the Gospel of Matthew, the Psalms, the Book of Job, and Revelations.
