Today’s Bible Verse of the Day Reflections
On this day, Jesus manifested Himself as the Food that lasts forever. He revealed that He is the Bread of Life, Bread that never gets finished.
With only 5 Loaves of Bread and 2 Fish, Jesus feeds a humongous crowd, who among them were a whopping 5000 men. This was a miracle. What human beings can’t comprehend we call it a miracle.
The disciples were very troubled when Jesus told them to tell the crowds to sit down for some food. They wondered how and where they would get all that food to feed them. But they forgot that the solution to their problem was Jesus who was right there with them.
Jesus looked up to heaven and blessed the loaves and fish the same way He did during the Last Supper when He said, “Take this all of you and eat it, for This is My Body.” He multiplied them and the crowd had enough to eat.
The feeding of this mammoth crowd by Jesus teaches us that whatever big a problem we might have, the answer is Him. In our limited human capacity, we may see as if the world in crumbling down on us when we face some serious problems, but if we take our problems to Jesus, everything starts to fall into place. Jesus will calm all our stormy seas when we turn to Him in humility and prayer.
Jesus instructed us to remember Him during the Holy Eucharist by eating His Body and drinking His Blood. Through this, we will dwell in Jesus and He will dwell in us and we will be raised on the Last day.
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, I love You, trust You and believe in You. Forgive me of my sins so that when I receive Your Body and Blood, I may live in You and You in Me forever. Amen
