St. Agostina Petrantoni Biography
St. Agostina Petrantoni was also known as Agostina Pietrantoni. She was born to a small farm family being the daughter of Francesco Pietrantoni and Caterina Constantini. Agostina served as a nurse at the Holy Spirit Hospital, Vatican, Rome in 1886.
She joined the Sisters of Charity, a Congregation dedicated to the service of the sick in 1887 taking the name Agostina. While working in a ward, a patient stabbed her to death during an attempted rape. She died praying that he be forgiven.
