Saint’s Biography

Saint Aldebrandus of Fossombrone studied at Santa Maria de Porto near Ravenna, Italy. He was a priest and prior of the monastery of Rimini, Italy. St. Aldebrandus was Known for his bold preaching against sinful lives, which put him afoul of some local authorities.

He once had to flee from death threats. Later in 1170, he became bishop of Fossombrone, Italy and he built the cathedral there. 

When St. Aldebrandus was bedridden, he was brought a cooked partridge; It was a day of fasting, so Aldebrandus prayed over the cooked bird which returned to life and flew away. He died on April 30, 1219, in Fossombrone, Italy of natural causes and interred on May 1, 1219, in the Fossombrone cathedral.
