St Archippus of Colossi was born in the 1st century at Colossae or Laodicea though the records may vary. He was the companion of Saint Paul the Apostle. In tradition, it is stated that he was one of the 72 disciples. According to the canonical Epistle to the Colossians, Paul bids him “take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfill it.”
