Saint John Sergius

St. John Sergius was also known as John of Mar Sabas. He was a monk at the eremetical abbey (a laura) of Saint Sabas’ near Jerusalem. He was martyred with 20 other monks in an Arab anti-Christian raid during which many others were injured but escaped. One of them, named Stephen, wrote a poem in honor of the group known as the Martyrs of Mar Sabas. He died in 796.

Saint Remigius of Strasbourg

St. Remigius of Strasbourg was born to the nobility and was also known as Remi or Remidius. He was the son of Hugh of Alsace and cousin of St. Odilia of Hohenburg. He was an abbot of Münster near Colmar, France and a bishop of Strasbourg, France in 776. In 783, he died.

Saint Anastasius XVI

St. Anastasius XVI was also known as Anastasius of Jerusalem or Anastasius of Saint Sabas. He was a monk and an archimandrite of St. Sabas Abbey in Jerusalem. He was murdered with his brothers in an attack by a band of thieves in 797.

Martyrs of San Sabas

The Martyrs of San Sabas were twenty monks who were martyred together in their monastery by invading Saracens. They died in 797 when they were burned inside the San Sabas monastery in Palestine.

Saint Nicetas of Apollonias

St. Nicetas of Apollonias was a bishop of Apollonias in Bithynia (modern Turkey). He was persecuted and exiled to Anatolia for opposing the iconoclasm of emperor Leo III.

Saint Urbitius of Metz

St. Urbitius of Metz was the bishop of Metz, France. He built a church in honor of St. Felix of Nola and it became part of the St. Clement monastery. He died in 420AD.

Saint Tertricus of Langres

St. Tertricus of Langres was the son of St. Gregory of Langres and uncle of St. Gregory of Tours. He was the bishop of Langres, France in 540AD. He died in 572.

Saint Benignus of Flay

St. Benignus of Flay was also known as Benignus of Fontenelle. He was a monk and an abbot at Fontenelle and Flay in France. He died in 725.

Saint Cathcan of Rath-derthaighe

St. Cathcan of Rath-derthaighe was a bishop of Rath-derthaighe, Ireland.

Martyrs of Amisus

The martyrs of Amisus were a group of Christian women martyred together in the persecutions of Diocletian. They were burned to death in 300AD in Amisus, Paphlagonia (modern Samsun, Turkey).
