Saint Gioan Baotixta Ăinh Van ThĂ nh
St. Gioan Baotixta Ăinh Van ThĂ nh, also known as John Baptist Dinh Van Than, was born in 1796 in NĂŽn KhĂȘ, Ninh BĂŹnh, Vietnam.
He served as a layman catechist in the apostolic vicariate of West Tonkin and worked with the Society of Foreign Missionaries.
During the persecutions of Emperor Minh Mang, he and his companions were imprisoned and tortured for three years for their faith.
Despite repeated orders to denounce Christianity, he refused to do so. On April 28 1840, he was beheaded and died as a martyr. He was canonized by Pope John Paul II on June 19 1988.
Saint PhaolĂŽ Pham Khac Khoan
St. PhaolĂŽ Pham Khac Khoan, also referred to as Paul Pham Khac Khoan, was a Vietnamese priest who was born in DuyĂȘn Mau, Ninh BĂŹnh, Vietnam in 1771.
He served in the apostolic vicariate of West Tonkin and was among those who were imprisoned and subjected to torture for their Christian faith during the reign of Emperor Minh Mang.
Despite repeated orders to renounce his beliefs, he remained steadfast in his faith and refused to comply. He was ultimately martyred and beheaded on April 28, 1840, in Ninh BĂŹnh, Vietnam. Pope John Paul II canonized him on June 19, 1988.

However, St. Didymus of Alexandria came to her rescue by switching clothes with her so that she could escape. Unfortunately, she was recaptured and ultimately martyred by beheading in Alexandria, Egypt, in 304 AD.
