St. Etchen of Clonfad Biography
St. Etchen of Clonfad was a monk who founded a monastery in Leinster, Ireland and served as its first abbot. He was a bishop living in the monastery. Etchen ordained Saint Columba of Iona. It is said that he was eager to start his career that he stopped the middle of plowing a field to have the ordination.
