Saint’s Biography
Saint Guillermo de Loarte was the mother of the holy sisters Clara († 1253; feast August 11) and Agnes of Assisi († 1253; feast November 16). She liked to go on a pilgrimage. For example, she undertook a pilgrimage to the shrine of the archangel Saint Michael Monte Gargano in the southern Italian region of Apulia. A year before Clara was born, she went to the Holy Land.
After the death of her husband she entered the Clares of San Damiano in Assisi, founded by her daughter Clara. She must have died there before 1238.
