Saint Henry Morse Biography

Henry was a convert who studied priesthood in Rome, Italy. He later joined the Jesuits in 1626 where he worked as a covert priest in London, England. He was infected with plague after working with some plague victims in 1636 of which he recovered from it later.

His imprisonment in 1638 was attributed to an informer who betrayed him to the authorities having ministered to people around the countryside of southern England for years. He was then convicted of the crime of Catholicism in the region in 1647 which led to his death. He is known to be one of the forty martyrs of England and Wales.
