Saint’s Biography
Saint Marculf was born to a noble family. He became a priest and later a hermit. He founded a monastery at Nanteuil, France, and served as its first abbot. After touching his relics, French kings were reported to be cure scrofula, a disease known for centuries as The King’s Evil.
Death
- He died in 558 of natural causes and his relics taken to Corbigny, Leon, France in 906.
- Relics re-enshrined in 1229.
- Relics taken to the hospice of St-Marculfo in Rheims, France in 1825.
