Saint’s Biography
For confess his faith publicly Saint Maximus of Jerusalem was branded on the foot, blinded in one eye. Maximus was then sentenced to forced labor in the mines during the persecutions of Maximian Galerius. St. Maximus was crippled, but survived and was released during the reign of Constantine and ordained bishop of Jerusalem. Maximus died in 350 AD in Jerusalem of natural causes
