Even after the Annunciation returned to its original date, the new feast on December 18 was retained. This observance invites the faithful to reflect on the emotions and anticipation of the Blessed Virgin as she approached the time of Christ’s birth.

He was an Augustinian priest and was martyred in the Spanish Civil War.
