Saint Eusebius of Saint Gall

St Eusebius of Saint Gall was born in Ireland and was hit with a scythe to death in 1884.

He was a martyr, a monk of St Gall Abbey in Switzerland and also a hermit on Mount St Victor in the Vorarlberg region of modern Austria.

He was killed while preaching against godlessness.

Saint Athanasius of Modon

St Athanasius of Modon was born in Catania, Sicily and died of natural causes in 885 AD.

When the Saracens invaded Sicily, Athanasius was forced to flee to Greece. He was a Basilian monk and a bishop of Modon (modern Methoni).

Saint Nicetas of Novgorod

St Nicetas of Novgorod was born in Kyiv, Ukraine. He was a monk at the Monastery of the Caves, a bishop of Novgorod in 1095 and also a hermit.

Tormented by demons in his solitude, he returned to the monastery. He was known as a miracle worker.

Saint Madoes

St Madoes was also known as Madianus. Though there are guesses and legends associated with this name, nothing is known about him except that he appears on ancient calendars, and he is honoured in the Carse of Gowrie, Scotland.

Saint Theodotia of Canope

St Theodotia of Canope was also known as Theodota. She was the daughter of St Athanasia of Canope and was martyred in the persecutions of Diocletian. She died in 303 AD outside Canope, Egypt.

Saint Wilgils

St Wilgils was also known as Wilgis or Hilgis. He was born in Northumbria, England. In addition, he was a father of St Willibrord of Echternach.

Retired to live as a hermit on the banks of the River Humber in northeast England.

Blessed John Angelus

Blessed John Angelus was born in Venice, Italy and died of natural causes in 1050 AD. He was a Benedictine monk at Pomposa, diocese of Ferrara, Italy and also a spiritual student of St Guy of Pomposa.

Saint Bobinus of Troyes

St Bobinus of Troyes was born in Aquitaine, France and died of natural causes in 766 AD.

He was a Benedictine monk at Moulier-la-Celle and also a bishop of Troyes, France in 760 AD.

Saint Martin Manuel

St Martin Manuel was born in Auranca, Portugal and died in 1156 AD in prison in Cordoba, Spain of ill-treatment.

He was a priest in Siure, Portuga and also he was a martyr. Additionally, he was captured by Saracens.

Saint Tysul

St Tysul was born in 462 AD and died of natural causes in 544 AD. He was a son of Corun, a cousin of St David of Wales and a founder of a church in Llandysul, Wales; the church and its ancient altar survive today.

Saint Saturninus of Alexandria

St Saturninus of Alexandria was martyred in the persecutions of Decius and died in 250 AD in Alexandria, Egypt.

Saint Theoctista of Canope

St Saturninus of Alexandria was the Daughter of St Athanasia of Canope. He was martyred in the persecutions of Diocletian. She later died in 303 AD outside Canope, Egypt.

Saint Athanasia of Canope

St Athanasia of Canope was a married Christian laywoman and mother. She was tortured and martyred with her three daughters. She was beheaded in Canope, Egypt.

Saint Victor of Alexandria

St Victor of Alexandria was martyred in the persecutions of Decius. He died in 250 AD in Alexandria, Egypt.

Saint Eudoxia of Canope

St Eudoxia of Canope was a daughter of Saint Athanasia of Canope and was martyred in the persecutions of Diocletian. She later died in 303 AD outside Canope, Egypt.

Saint Tryphaena of Cyzicus

St Tryphaena of Cyzicus was a martyr. He was tortured, then gored to death by a bull at Cyzicus (in modern Turkey).

St Zoticus of Alexandria was a martyr martyred in Alexandria, Egypt.
