St Nerses the Great, the father of St Isaac the great, died in the year 373 AD. He received his education at Cappadocia.
His wife was a princess of the Mamikonian family . He was a Catholicos in the year 353 AD. Nerses was exiled due to some of his proposed reforms which displeased King Arshak III until recalled in the year 369 AD by King Pap who after 4 years murdered him by poisoning.
