Saint’s Biography

Our Lady is a painting done in the 17th century. It is kept in the shrine of Kalwaria Zebrzydowska. This is one of the most common pilgrimage locations in Poland. Legend has it that the painting wept in 1641. The owner of the painting gave it to the Bernardine monastery at Kalwaria Zebrzydowska. The painting was later venerated 15 years later. The chapel was commissioned to house it.
