Biography
Pope Saint Pius I, may have been brought into the world a slave. May have been the sibling of Hermas, creator of The Shepherd. Tenth Pope. Allegedly settled the date for Easter as the primary Sunday after the March full moon. Built up principles for the change of Jews. Contradicted Marcion the freethinker. May have been martyred.
The way that Saint Justin Martyr did his Christian educating in Rome, Italy, and that the three apostates Valentinus, Cerdon, and Marcion visited there, help demonstrate that at even this right off the bat in the Church’s history, Rome was at that point the essential see and the focal point of its position.
