St. Sergius of Caesarea Biography
St. Sergius of Caesarea was a monk in Caesarea in Cappadocia. He might have been a priest but the records are unclear. He was one of a group of Christians gathered and commanded to sacrifice to idols during the persecutions of Diocletian.
However, when the sacrificial fire went out, He claimed that it was the work of the true God. He was tried and persecuted for his faith by an order of the local governor.
