St Spes of Campi was a Monk and Abbot in Campi, Italy born in the 5th century AD. He was totally blind for 40 years but regained his eyesight for the last 15 days of his life. He died in 515 AD. We celebrate his feast day on May 23 every year in the Catholic Church.
