Saint’s Biography
Saint Theodard of Narbonne was born to a wealthy family of the French nobility. St. Theodar was an excellent student in both secular and church topics. He was as a sub-deacon and helped to settle a dispute at a synod at Toulouse, France.
St. Theodar was chosen Arch-deacon of Narbonne, France, where he became known as a great minister to the poor and suffering. He later became Archbishop of Narbonne, France, consecrated on 15 August 885. St. Theodard was a generous man who offered to pay ransom for Christians captured by Saracens, and to re-build suffragan dioceses damaged by the invaders.
Death
St. Theodard died on May 1 893 at Montauban, France of natural causes.
