St. Theodora the Empress Biography
St. Theodora the Empress was married to a brutal and thuggish Emperor, Theophilus. She was the mother to Emperor Michael II and was widowed where she ended the iconoclast persecutions. She ruled for 12 years but got banished when her drunken son took the throne. Theodora then spent the last eight years of her life in a monastery.
