Saint’s Biography
Saint Tommaso was born on June 4, 1655, in Italy. Tommaso lost his mother early and then his father when he was fourteen, and Thomas was left alone with the responsibility of a younger sibling. Shepherd in Campagna outside Rome until his sister well-married.
Thomas studied philosophy and theology in Viterbo, Italy and joined the Observant Franciscans in 1675. He lived the rest of his life in the Civitella monastery, where he preached and served among the inhabitants there, except for six years when he was the superior of the Palombara monastery.
Death
Tommaso died on January 11, 1729, in Bellegra, Rome, Italy of natural causes. He was known for his simple life, his strict observance of the Franciscan way, and his gifts of healing.
