Saint Viance of Anjou Life History
St Viance of Anjou was born to a family of serfs in France. He was orphaned at ten. Viance was friends with the son of the Duke of Aquitaine and studied with him at the church school at Cahors. The Duke ordered that Viance be returned to his position as a serf.
The duke abused him for his faith and charity to those even poorer than himself. The duke allowed Viance to pursue the life of a prayerful hermit. St. Viance died in 673 AD of natural causes.
