Today’s Bible Verse of the Day Reflections – John 15:9-11
The greatest gift that we can receive from Jesus Christ is the assurance of His unwavering and unending love.
The condition we have been given by Jesus in order to be guaranteed of His love is keeping His commandments.
The greatest commandment that Jesus gave us was to love The Lord our God with all our hearts, our Souls and our minds and to love our neighbours as we love ourselves.
This is to say that when we spread love then we receive love from The Holy Trinity and from our neighbours too.
This love overflows from God The Father to the Son, then from the Son to us. When it reaches us, it is supposed to overflow to others so that, as Jesus says, our joy may be complete.
God’s love to us was so much that He had to sacrifice His only Son to die on the cross so that we may be saved from our own sins. What a wonderful love!
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I pray for strength so that I may love my neighbours regardless of the wrongs they commit against me. Help me to follow your example of loving endlessly and unconditionally. Amen.
