Blessed’s Biography

Blessed Herman Joseph was born in Germany on April 7, 1241. He was from a poor family. Age of seven while attending school he would go St. Mary church and would kneel praying to Mary. According to legend when the boy went to church on a cold day he made his appearance known by leaving his footprint.       

Blessed Herman Joseph entered the abbey at twelve. He had not reached the age for an abbot, so he was sent in the Netherlands for further studies.
