He was born in 1070 AD in Campugliano, Province of Pistoia, Tuscany Region in Italy and died on October 23 1134 AD in Campugliano.

St Allucio of Campugliano Life History

Allucio was the son of Omodeo who owned a ranch. When he was growing up he became a shepherd of his family’s flock in Pescia, Tuscany, Italy.

Later on, he devoted his life to acts of charity and became a director of the alms-house in Valdi Nievole, Italy.

St Allucio of Campugliano built two churches, three shelters for pilgrims and travellers, one being on his own land, and also a bridge over the Arno River.

His generousity in almsgiving, miracle works, and other works of charity attracted many people who became the foundation of the future Brothers of Saint Allucio.

He was also a peacemaker for he helped end the war between the city-states of Ravenna and Faenza in Tuscany, Italy.
