Blessed Juan of Huete
Blessed Juan of Huete died of natural causes in 1442 AD. He was a Mercedarian friar at the convent of Santa Maria in Huete, Spain.
Greatly increased their already excellent library. He was a friend and counsellor to the royal family and converted many Muslims in the Iberian peninsula to Christianity. After his death. he was buried in the church of the Convent of Santa Maria, Huete, Spain.
Saint Manahen
St Manahen was also known as Manaen. He was a friend of Herod Antipas. Manahen was one of those who laid hands on St Paul and St Barnabas and sent the two Apostles on the first of Paul’s missionary journeys.
May have been Saint Luke’s source for information on King Herod and family. Additionally, he was likely one of the founders of the Church in Antioch and also had the gift of prophecy.
Saint Gennadius of Astorga
St Gennadius of Astorga died in 931 AD. He was a Benedictine monk at Argeo, Spain and also an abbot of San Pedro de Montes, which he restored.
He helped spread the Benedictine Rule through northwest Spain. In addition, he was a bishop of Astorga, Spain for 35 years and later resigned his see in 931 AD, and retired to live his remaining years as a monk and hermit at San Pedro.
Saint Palladia
St Palladia died in 2nd century in Galatia. She was in one of a group of wives of 2nd century martyred soldiers under the command of St Meletius.
Following the death of the soldiers, the wives and children were martyred, as well. In addition, she was a patron saint of martyrs and she is represented by a group of women and children holding palms of martyrdom.
Blessed Thomas Vasière
Blessed Thomas Vasière was French-born and died of natural causes at the convent of Santa Maria in Tolosa, Spain.
He was a Mercedarian friar at the Convent of Santa Maria in Tolosa, Spain. He ransomed 114 Christians from Muslim slavery in North Africa, preaching Christianity as he made his way to them and back.
Saint Hubert of Bretigny
St Hubert of Bretigny, also known as Hugbert or Uberto, died of natural causes in 714 AD. He was in the face of family opposition, at age 12 Hubert became a Benedictine monk at Bretigny, Noyon, France.
Blessed Philip of Piacenza
Blessed Philip of Piacenza died of natural causes in 1306 AD. He was a priest and also an Augustinian hermit in Piacenza, Italy. Additionally, he wore iron armour at all times as a way of reducing his concern for things of the flesh.
Blessed John of Montfort
Blessed John of Montfort died on May 25 1177 AD in Nicosia, Cyprus, He was a Benedictine Knight Templar of Jerusalem and was once wounded in combat with the Saracens. Sadly, he was taken to Cyprus where he never fully recovered.

St Meletius the Soldier died as a martyr. He was an officer in the imperial Roman army who was executed with 252 of his men for being Christian but the date and location are still unknown.
