Blessed Louis-Zéphirin Moreau was the Bishop of Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec and the founder of both the Sisters of Saint-Joseph of Saint-Hyacinthe and the Sisters of Sainte-Martha. He was born on April 1 1824 in Bécancour, Quebec, Canada and died on May 24 1901 in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada. We celebrate his feast day on May 24 every year in the Catholic Church.

Blessed Louis-Zéphirin Moreau History
Blessed Louis-Zéphirin Moreau was born in a farm in Bécancour, Quebec, Canada. In his youth days, he was sickly but managed to live on.
He was ordained as a priest on December 19 1846. He taught philosophy at the seminary at Nicolet, Quebec, Canada, and later on became the secretary to a series of bishops of Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec.
He became the Bishop of Saint-Hyacinthe on November 19 1875 and later on founded of both the Sisters of Saint-Joseph of Saint-Hyacinthe and the Sisters of Sainte-Martha.
He is the patron saint of the Diocese of Saint-Hyacinthe, Québec, Sisters of St. Joseph of Saint-Hyacinthe, and Sisters of Sainte Martha.
